A Strontium-based GC 1 Glass ionomer. GC Gold Label Glass Ionomer contains strontium glass. The strontium glass gives great radiopacity and depiction attributes, consistently favored by clinicians around the globe. They are supplied as a powder and a liquid that is mixed with water. For optimal bonding, the tooth surface should be conditioned with polyacrylic acid before the application of the cement. GC 1 Glass ionomer is classified based on what they are used for. Glass ionomer is not recommended for use on the chewing surfaces of back teeth. Because the surface of glass ionomer fillings can get rough over time, there can be more gum problems around these fillings.
